Iraq announced Thursday that it will host the Arab Summit on May 17.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said while chairing the 12th meeting dedicated to preparing for the Arab Summit in Baghdad, that May 17 will be the official date for the Arab Summit in Baghdad.
According to a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, the meeting reviewed the latest preparations for the summit, and discussed the reports submitted by the specialized committees, which included logistical, technical and organizational preparations, in addition to discussing detailed plans to ensure the success of the event, including ceremonial procedures and security and media coordination.
Hussein underlined the importance of this summit that will be hosted by Baghdad, noting that Iraq is working to prepare all appropriate conditions to ensure its success, in a way that reflects a positive image of the country and enhances the path of joint Arab action.
